お天気もよく暖かな１日でした。赤ちゃんが初めて食べ物をお箸で口に運ぶという「お食い初め」のお祝いを私どもでしてくださいました。このような儀式を個人的にもしたことがなかったので、お客様から依頼があった時、正直どうしてよいか分からず、とりあえずネットで調べて何とか簡単なお膳をご用意しました。中心となるタイの塩焼きはとても自信がないのでスーパーの鮮魚の方にお願いし、はまぐりもなかったので普通のお吸い物にしました。多賀大社でお宮参りを済ませた御一家の中心人物はもちろん元気な男の赤ちゃん。額に朱で「大」の文字が残っていました。おめでたい席に離れの和室を使っていただき嬉しい限りです。
It was a clear fine day. There is a Japanese traditional ritual for babies called Okuizome (first meal) that parents perform around the 100th day after the birth of their baby to wish the infant will never starve and it was held at my space. I have never experienced this celebration, and I didn't know what to do for them when I was requested. I got the information from the internet and prepared the special food for the celebration. Since I cannot bake sea bream which is the symbol fish for this kind of celebration, I asked a fishmonger of a supermarket to bake and I put some decoration on it afterward. The number of the family members were ten including their baby. They looked so happy to get together and have such a special celebration for the baby. I am grateful that they came to my cafe to have Okuizome, after visiting Taga Taisha.
