The process of my reentry to the US which I haven't done since Oct. 2019 because of the coronavirus is very complicated. Today, I went to Shiga prefectural police headquarters to apply for a document. First I went to the police box near the station to get directions to the Ohtsu Police office. There I got a kind of revenue stamp issued by the Police office, and then I headed for Shiga prefectural police headquarters. As I walked in the rain, I thought to myself that it is a rare case for me to visit three police-related buildings in a day. At the reception desk of the headquarters, I was told that I needed to go to the Identification Section. Officer came to me and went up to the 8th floor. After submitting some documents, I had several kinds of fingerprints. It was surprising to take so many fingerprints, as I had more simple ones before. On the way back, I found "Hashirii Mochi"(Japanese sweets) at the station which my father used to bring back to home for the family when he went to Ohtsu for meetings when I was a child. I was so happy to find one because I thought it had already disappeared from the shop. It was a day of nervousness in taking fingerprints and nostalgia in remembering my father.
