    I served Izanami-lunch which is a special menu on the first Sunday of each month. Following are the detailed menu. Marinated tomato, octopus and avocado, Palmitos with Sauce gribiche, Fried chicken, Grilled eggplant with miso sauce, Smoked salmon and grapefruit salad, Rolled cabbage with shredded vegetables, Simmered yellowtail and daikon radish, Tomato's rice and Steamed shrimp dumpling soup.

    You might hear the name,"Palmitos" , it is Portuguese and I got this from a customer who was in Brazil for years before as a business expat. I just left it in the kitchen for a couple months because I didn't know how to eat it but I decided to use it for this special day. Palmitos are the heat of palm bottling after boiling in the water. They are like white asparagus and soft bamboo shoots. I made gribiche sauce (French sauce like tartar sauce) for pouring them. It was a very nice dish and I liked them very much. I enjoyed making this special lunch which was Japanese and Western Cuisine.
